“a melancholy romance, op. 2”

Keeping up with my theme of A Melancholy Romance, the second piece in the series focuses on a love triangle. I was inspired by Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night” poster and the story of Zephyrus and Chloris (god of the west wind to the left and god of flora to the right) surrounding Hyacinthus. Though Zephyrus was married to Chloris, stories were also written about Zephyrus’s love to Hyacinthus and how beautiful their romance was. Chloris, though bruised by their love, also understood the infatuation with Hyacinthus. For his beauty and spirit was known throughout the land.

Those elements stood out to me and seemed like a perfect fit for the second piece in my series.
